Kalmiam is an app published by Anthony Guccione, sole proprietor (SIREN 103 211 132, France). This page explains which data the app uses, why, and how to delete it.
1. Most of your data stays on your iPhone
Your profile (goal, height, weight, allergies…), meals, water intake, workouts, favorites and shopping list are stored on your iPhone. We do not send them to our servers to keep them.
2. Analyzing a meal from a photo or text
When you use “Meal photo” or “Describe a meal”, the photo or text is sent to our servers and then to a third-party artificial intelligence service that estimates calories and nutrients. We ask for your consent before the first upload. Kalmiam does not keep the photo or the text. Please do not upload photos showing people.
The values returned are estimates, provided for information only.
3. Anonymous identifier
To prevent abuse and count the analyses you are allowed, the app creates an anonymous account (no name, no email, no password) with Google Firebase. Only this random identifier and an analysis counter are kept on the server. Daily counters are erased after 3 days, and everything tied to your account is deleted along with it.
4. Subscription
Payments are handled by Apple: we never see your card details. To know whether your subscription is active, the app uses the RevenueCat service, which receives your anonymous identifier and your subscription status.
5. Food search and barcodes
Searching for a product or scanning a barcode queries the open Open Food Facts database (the barcode or search text is transmitted). Generic foods come from the Anses Ciqual table, stored in the app. Open Food Facts data is under the ODbL license; the Anses Ciqual 2020 table is under an open license.
6. No ads, no data sales
We do not sell your data, we do not show ads and we do not use advertising trackers.
7. Your rights and deletion
In the app, open Account then Delete my data and account: everything is erased from your iPhone and your anonymous account is deleted from our servers. You can also write to contact@kalmiam.com to exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure or objection (GDPR). You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in France, the CNIL: cnil.fr).
8. Health
Kalmiam does not replace medical advice. If you have a medical condition, are pregnant or have any doubt, consult a healthcare professional.
If you connect Apple’s Health app, Kalmiam reads your active calories and water for the day, and saves your glasses of water and workouts to it. This health data stays on your iPhone: it is never sent to our servers. You can remove access at any time in Settings › Health › Data Access & Devices.
